Backpacking Trip: Wild Camping USA: Dispersed Camping Illinois: Sand Ridge State Forest Backpacking

30 Miles backpacking in Sand and Bugs in Central Illinois! Central Illinois Backpacking and Hiking Illinois opportunities are a bit limited but we head out on a two night backpacking trip and do some wild camping at Sand Ridge State Forest Backpacking for a weekend of dispersed camping and hiking. We did some wild camping illinois dispersed camping and had a great time! Illinois backpacking can be tough due to heat, humidity and bugs. We did some backcountry camping, tent camping and backpack camping. We did 30 miles on Illinois trails over the weekend. We were backpacking in sand at Sand Ridge State Forest and there we a lot of backpacking bugs on the trail. In terms of Midwest backpacking destinations, Sand Ridge State Park offers a of my opportunities of a backpacking trip. What a great backcountry Illinois backpacking trip!
