We spend another weekend doing some Ice Age Trail Hiking. We go to hike the Ice Age Trail along the Wisconsin River on the Turtle Rock segment within the Northwoods chapter. This portion of the Wisconsin Ice Age Trail offers excellent Ice Age Trail Backpacking opportunities. The trail starts in the Lincoln county forest, which allows dispersed camping. The Ice Age Trail follows a cute stream which is part of the Grandfather Flowage until it meets up with the mighty Wisconsin River. The Turtle Rock segment offers the best views of the Grandfather Dam and rapids. This portion of the Ice Age Trail features a mile long section of boulder scrambling which runs along the Wisconsin River. The end of the Turtle Rock Segment winds through an old logging area on the Ice Age Trail.
